Chap’s Taproom opened in March of 1998 after almost two years of planning and construction. The vision of Michael Bono, and named after his father, Charles “Chap” Bono, Chap’s has made its mark in the Jeffersonville community. The building was originally a personal residence and at the time the property was purchased by Michael and his wife Kathy, it was a vacant lot.

From a vacant building surrounded by overgrown weeds, to a restaurant and sports bar that employs forty-five full and part time people, Chap’s is the place to go for a great meal or to watch your favorite sporting event. In 2002, the Bono’s purchased the old Wendy’s property adjacent to Chap’s to address additional parking needs. Currently this lot is the home of the Wine & Spirit Shop with shared parking for Chap’s patrons.
